UN Chinese Language Day: 20 April
Every year 20 April is celebrated as United Nations Chinese Language Day to pay tribute to Cangjie.
Cangjie is a mythological figure who invented Chinese characters.
The United Nations has six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

The first UN Chinese Language Day was celebrated on 12 November in 2010, but from 2011 onwards it began to be celebrated on 20 April.

Charles ‘Chuck’ Geschi, a co-founder of software maker Adobe and a developer of portable document format (PDF) technology, died at the age of 81.

India and France sign agreement for cooperation on ‘Gaganyaan Mission’
An agreement has been signed by India’s space agency ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) and France’s space agency ‘Center national d’études spatiales’ (CNES) for cooperation in India’s first manned space mission Gaganyaan.
There is a plan to send astronauts from Indian soil to space to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence in 2022 under the ‘Gaganyaan’ mission.
