Every year 21 April is celebrated as Civil Services Day.
On this day, ‘Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration’ is awarded.
On 21 April 1947, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel attended the Metcalf House in Delhi the first batch of administrative services was addressed to the supervisors.
In his speech, he called the civil servants ‘the steel frame of India’.
This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2006.

Sunil Arora becomes the new governor of Goa

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is currently holding additional charge as the Governor of Goa.

Indian Railways started ‘Oxygen Express’ trains

Railways will run ‘Oxygen Express’ trains to meet the huge demand and lack of oxygen due to increase in the number of Corona patients in the country.
Railway liquid medical oxygen (LMO) and oxygen cylinders will be delivered across the country through these trains.
A green corridor is being built to run at high speed for Oxygen Express trains.
The Green Corridor is a temporarily prepared route with the mutual support of the hospital personnel and the police, in which traffic is stopped or regularized for a while on the designated route with the help of the traffic police. So that the pilot vehicle or ambulance has the least time to travel from one place to another.
Piyush Goyal is the current Railway Minister of India.

Under this, Public Discipline Fortnight will be celebrated in the entire state from 5 am on 19 April to 5 am on 3 May.
All the work places, business establishments and markets of the state will remain closed during the fortnight.


Asian Wrestling Championship 2021

In this championship, India finished third by winning a total of 14 medals.

Kannada writer Ganjam Venkatasubbaiya passed away

Famous Kannada writer editor and lexographer G. Venkatasubbaiya passed away at the age of 107.
He has also been awarded the Padma Shri Award in 2017 for his contribution to Kannada language.
Apart from this, he also received Kannada Sahitya Academy Award and Pampa Award.


Fierce fire in South Africa’s ‘Table Maunton National Park’

A fire broke out in ‘Table Mountain National Park‘ located in Cape Town, South Africa, which went out of control.
200 more fire crews have been deployed in the area to extinguish the fire.
The park is included in the UNESCO World Heritage.
The park has two famous landmarks: Table Mountain, for which the park is named; And the Cape of Good Hope, the most south-western end of Africa.

Former India Olympian footballer Ahmed Hussain Lala died due to Covid-19.
He was part of the Indian team that won the gold medal at the 1951 Asian Games.
He represented India at the 1956 Summer Olympics (Melbourne), where India finished fourth.
