The day was announced by the International Labor Organization (ILO).
It is being celebrated every year since 2003.

‘The Unicorn’, the smallest black hole discovered so far, just 1500 light years away from Earth

Astronomers have discovered a blackhole that is not only the smallest of the recorded blackholes, but is also located closest to the earth (1500 light years away).
Astronomers have named it “The Unicorn”.
It was named the unicorn because it is found in a unique blackhole of its own kind and in the monoceros – the unicorn planetarium.
Blackhole: Blackholes are holes in space where the force of gravity is so high that there is no transit of light from here.
The concept was validated by Albert Einstein in the year 1915, but the term blackhole was first used by American physicist John Wheeler in the mid-1960s.


Manchester City won the title of League Cup football tournament

China named its first Mars rover “Zhurong”, which is named after the ancient fire god.
China’s National Space Administration CNSA (China National Space Administration) announced its name at the sixth China Space Day held in Nanjing.
The Chinese name of Mars, “Huxing,” literally means “fire star.”

Former Maruti Suzuki MD Jagdish Khattar passed away

Jagdish Khattar, former managing director of Maruti Suzuki, passed away at the age of 78.
Jagdish Khattar was associated with Maruti Udyog Limited from 1993 to 2007. After retirement in 2007, he formed his own auto sales and service company called Carnation Auto.

RBI fixes the term of MD and CEO of private banks for 15 years

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made several changes in the rules for MDs and CEOs of private sector banks.
Now the MD or CEO of a bank cannot be more than 70 years old and no more than 15 years can hold this post.
This rule will also apply to full time directors- WTD.
MDs and CEOs or WTD promoters who are also major shareholders cannot hold these positions for more than 12 years.
Changes in the rules can have a big impact on Uday Kotak, MD and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, he has been the CEO of the bank for the past 17 years.


Jhumpa Lahiri’s new novel “Whereabouts”

Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri has launched her new novel “Whereabouts”.
The book is an English translation of the Italian novel ‘Ias Dove Mi Trovo’, written by author Jhumpa Lahiri himself and published in 2018.
Jhumpa Lahiri is an Indian American writer.
He won the Pulitzer Prize in the year 2000 for his first story collection ‘Interpreter of Maladies’ and the first novel ‘The Namesake’.
She is the first Asian woman to take this order.

Rafael Nadal wins Barcelona Open 2021 title

Spain’s Rafael Nadal won the 12th Barcelona Open title of his career by defeating Stephanos Sitipas (Greece) in the Barcelona Open Tennis Final.
This is the 87th career of 20-time Grand Slam winner Nadal and his 61st title on clay.
The Barcelona Open is one of the prestigious men’s tennis tournaments played on clay courts.
