T Rabi Shankar appointed as new Deputy Governor of RBI
The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has appointed T. Rabi Shankar for the post of the fourth Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for 3 years.
He will succeed BP Kanungo, who retired on 2 April 2021.
The other three deputy governors are Mahesh Kumar Jain, Michael Patra and M. Rajeshwar Rao.
Prior to this, T Ravi Shankar was the Executive Director at RBI.

Anand Mahindra launches ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ initiative
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has started the ‘Oxygen on Wheels’ project to deliver oxygen easily to the required place.
In this initiative, oxygen will be transported to the hospital or home wherever it is needed, using the Mahindra Bolero.
The facility has been launched in Mumbai, Thane, Nashik and Nagpur.
In this project, the model ‘Direct-2-Consumer’ is being adopted to deliver the product directly to the customer.

Film and TV actor Bikramjit Kanwarpal passed away at the age of 52 due to covid-19 infection.

SIDBI launched two quick loan schemes for MSME ‘SHWAS’ and ‘AROG’
The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has launched two quick loan schemes ‘SHWAS’ and ‘AROG’ for the support of MSMEs (micro, small and medium industries) with necessary financial support in the fight against COVID-19 epidemic.
SHWAS scheme relates to SIDBI’s assistance in the healthcare sector against the second wave of Covid 19.
AROG has been launched to provide immediate credit support for recovery and growth of MSME units during the pandemic.

Ambassador for IOC’s ‘Believe in Sport’ campaign: PV Sindhu and Michelle Lee
The World Badminton Federation (BWF) announced that India’s world champion and Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu and world number 11 Canadian player Michael Lee were among the players ambassadors for the ‘Believe in Sports’ campaign of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has been appointed.
Both Sindhu and Lee have been global ambassadors of BWF’s ‘I Am Badminton’ campaign since April 2020.
The ‘Believe in Sport’ campaign was launched in 2018 to raise awareness and encourage the topic of competition manipulation.
