नेल्सन मंडेला दक्षिण अफ्रीका के प्रथम अश्वेत भूतपूर्व राष्ट्रपति’ थे.
1990 में श्वेत सरकार से हए एक समझौते के बाद उन्होंने नये दक्षिण अफ्रीका का निर्माण किया, और वे दक्षिण अफ्रीका और विश्व में रंगभेद का विरोध करने के प्रतीक बन गये.
संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघ ने उनके जन्म दिन (18 जुलाई) को नेल्सन मंडेला अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के रूप में मनाने की घोषणा की थी.

दूरसंचार उपकरण और सेवा निर्यात संवर्धन परिषद (TEPC) ने संदीप अग्रवाल को नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है. दिल्ली स्थित पैरामाउंट कम्युनिकेशंस के प्रबंध निदेशक और प्रवर्तक, अग्रवाल पूर्व दूरसंचार सचिव श्यामल घोष से पदभार ग्रहण करेंगे. TEPC एक स्वतंत्र निकाय है जो सरकार द्वारा दूरसंचार उपकरणों और सेवाओं के निर्यात को बढ़ावा देने और विकसित करने के लिए स्थापित किया गया है.
The Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) has appointed Sandeep Aggarwal as the new chairman. Agarwal, managing director and promoter of Delhi-based Paramount Communications, will take over from former telecom secretary Shyamal Ghosh. TEPC is an independent body established by the government to promote and develop the export of telecommunications equipment and services.
देश की पहली स्वदेशी ड्राइवर लैस Metro Car का उद्घाटन
केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री, राजनाथ सिंह ने BEML के बैंगलोर कॉम्प्लेक्स में आयोजित एक समारोह के दौरान 15 जनवरी 2021 को भारत की पहली 'ड्राइवरलेस मेट्रो कार' का अनावरण किया. मुंबई मेट्रोपॉलिटन रीजन डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (MMRDA) के लिए स्वदेशी रूप से डिजाइन और विकसित अत्याधुनिक ड्राइवरलेस मेट्रो ट्रेनों का निर्माण BEML बैंगलुरु विनिर्माण सुविधा में किया जा रहा है.
BEML ने हाल ही में चालक रहित मेट्रो कारों के लिए कमीशनिंग, परीक्षण और चौबीसों घंटे सेवाओं के लिए चारकोप मेट्रो डिपो, MMRDA, मुंबई में अपना डिपो कार्यालय खोला. BEML ने मुंबई महानगर क्षेत्र विकास प्राधिकरण (MMRDA) की MRS1 परियोजना के लिए कुल 576 कारों का ऑर्डर दिया और जनवरी 2024 तक आपूर्ति उत्तरोत्तर निर्धारित है.
The Union Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh unveiled India's first 'driverless metro car' on 15 January 2021 during a ceremony held at BEML's Bangalore Complex. State-of-the-art driverless metro trains designed and developed indigenously for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) are being constructed at the BEML Bangalore manufacturing facility.
BEML recently opened its depot office at Charkop Metro Depot, MMRDA, Mumbai for commissioning, testing and round-the-clock services for driverless metro cars. BEML has ordered a total of 576 cars for the MRS1 project of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and supplies are scheduled progressively by January 2024.
गणतंत्र दिवस परेड, 2021 में बांग्लादेश की सैन्य टुकड़ी भाग लेगी
आने वाली 26 जनवरी, 2021 को भारत के गणतंत्र दिवस परेड में 122 सदस्यीय बांग्लादेश सशस्त्र बल भाग लेगा. यह भारत के इतिहास में केवल तीसरी बार है कि किसी भी विदेशी सैन्य दल को राजपथ पर राष्ट्रीय परेड में भाग लेने के लिए आमंत्रित किया गया है. यह वर्ष, 2021 में बांग्लादेश मुक्ति युद्ध के 50 वर्ष पूरे होने के लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण है. भारत ने वर्ष 1971 में तत्कालीन पूर्वी-पाकिस्तान अर्थात मौजूदा बांग्लादेश के साथ मिलकर, पाकिस्तान के प्रति बांग्लादेश के मुक्ति युद्ध में हिस्सा लिया था जिसमें अंततः भारत और बांग्लादेश की विजय हुई थी.
The 122-member Bangladesh Armed Forces will participate in the upcoming Republic Day Parade of India on 26 January 2021. This is only the third time in the history of India that any foreign military party has been invited to participate in the national parade at Rajpath. This year is also important for the completion of 50 years of Bangladesh Liberation War in 2021. India participated in the liberation war of Bangladesh against Pakistan in 1971 with the then East-Pakistan i.e. the present Bangladesh, in which India and Bangladesh finally won.

केरल ईज ऑफ डूइंग बिजनेस सुधर लागू करने वाला 8वां राज्य बना
केरल, वित्त मंत्रालय के व्यय विभाग द्वारा निर्धारित "ईज ऑफ डूइंग बिजनेस" सुधार को सफलतापूर्वक लागू करने वाला देश का 8वां राज्य बन गया है. केरल ओपन मार्केट उधार के माध्यम से 2,373 करोड़ रुपये के अतिरिक्त वित्तीय संसाधन जुटाने के लिए पात्र हो गया है. 12 जनवरी 2021 को व्यय विभाग द्वारा समान के लिए अनुमति जारी की गई थी.
केरल अब आंध्र प्रदेश, कर्नाटक, मध्य प्रदेश, ओडिशा, राजस्थान, तमिलनाडु और तेलंगाना जैसे सात अन्य राज्यों में शामिल हो गया है, जिन्होंने इस सुधार को लागू किया है.
Kerala has become the 8th state in the country to successfully implement the "Ease of Doing Business" reform set by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. Kerala has become eligible to raise additional financial resources of Rs 2,373 crore through open market lending. Permission for similar was issued by the Department of Expenditure on 12 January 2021.
Kerala has now joined seven other states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Telangana which have implemented this reform.
प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना के 5 वर्ष पूरे
केन्द्र सरकार के महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रम प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना के सफलतापूर्वक पांच वर्ष पूरे हो गये हैं। सरकार ने किसानों के लिए फसलों को होने वाले जोखिम से बचाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाते हुए 13 जनवरी 2016 को इस योजना को मंजूरी दी थी।
यह योजना इस विचार के साथ तैयार की गई थी कि किसानों को सबसे कम प्रीमियम देकर फसलों के जोखिम से सुरक्षा मिल सके। योजना के तहत किसानों की हिस्सेदारी से अधिक की प्रीमियम लागत केन्द्र और राज्य सरकार वहन करेंगे।
कृषि मंत्रालय ने कहा है कि इस योजना से पहले प्रति हेक्टेयर बीमा की औसत राशि 15 हजार एक सौ रुपये थी जिसे प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना के अंतर्गत बढ़ाकर 40 हजार सात सौ कर दिया गया है।
केन्द्र सरकार ने किसानों से प्रधानमंत्री फसल बीमा योजना का फायदा उठाने की अपील की है। किसानों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की इस योजना ने कल पांच साल पूरे किये। कृषि मंत्रालय ने एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा है कि 13 जनवरी 2016 को योजना की शुरूआत से अब तक 90 हजार करोड़ रुपये किसानों में बांटे जा चुके हैं।

इस प्लेटफ़ॉर्म का विचार पहली बार नीति आयोग के सीईओ अमिताभ कांत द्वारा लाया गया था, जिन्होंने 2017 में हैदराबाद में 'महिलाओं के लिए समृद्धि, सभी के लिए समृद्धि' के विषय पर आयोजित 8 वें वैश्विक उद्यमिता शिखर सम्मेलन (GES) के समापन पर नीति आयोग में एक महिला उद्यमिता मंच की स्थापना की घोषणा की थी।

NITI Aayog and Flipkart have joined hands to launch a women's entrepreneurship platform. The Women's Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is an integrated access portal that brings together women from different places in India to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations.
The idea for this platform was first brought up by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, who in 2017 concluded the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad on the subject of 'Prosperity for Women, Prosperity for All'. The Commission had announced the establishment of a Women's Entrepreneurship Forum.

दिसंबर में भारत की खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति घटकर हुई 4.59%
सरकारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार, भारत की खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति दिसंबर में तेजी से गिरकर 4.59 प्रतिशत पर आ गई है, जिसका मुख्य कारण खाद्य कीमतों में आई गिरावट है। उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक (Consumer Price Index) पर आधारित खुदरा मुद्रास्फीति नवंबर में 6.93 प्रतिशत थी।
सांख्यिकी और कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार, दिसंबर 2020 में खाद्य मुद्रास्फीति घटकर दिसंबर में 3.41 प्रतिशत रह गई, जो पिछले महीने में 9.5 प्रतिशत थी।
