Israeli rocket attack on Palestine, Gaza military chief of Hamas killed
Tensions between Israel and Palestine have taken a violent form.
Hamas, which (believed to be a terrorist organization in Palestine) on Monday fired hundreds of rockets toward Israel at the al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest place for Muslims in Jerusalem.
Following this attack, Israel carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Gaza causing massive destruction in Palestine.
Israel’s airstrikes have killed Basam Isa, the Gaza City commander of the militant organization Hamas.
Hamas is an armed organization of Palestinian Sunni Muslims.

Assam becomes the first state to use online flood reporting system
Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua launched a digital real-time flood reporting and information management system (FIRMS) in the state of Assam.
With this, Assam has become the first Indian state to use digital flood reporting system.
The FIRMS has been developed jointly by the Assam State Disaster Management Agency (ASDMA) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The Brahmaputra River is the main cause of floods in Assam.
This river is quite unstable due to steep slopes and high sedimentation.
In Assam, it is mandatory to report daily flood levels between 15 May and 15 October every year.

Puducherry becomes a union territory with ‘every house water’
Puducherry has achieved the goal of 100% pipe connection in rural areas under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
With this, the Union Territory of Goa, Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands has become the fourth state to provide water connections to every rural household under the Puducherry Central Government program ‘Jal Jeevan Abhiyan’.
Recently Punjab State and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have covered more than 75% of rural households with tap water supply.
Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM): Jal Jeevan Mission is a major program of the Central Government.

Homain Bargohain served as editor of the head of the Assamese daily Neomiya Dialogue.
