Miss Mexico Andrea Meza has been crowned the 69th Miss Universe 2020.
India’s Adeline Quadros Casino has made it to the top 4.
Brazil’s Julia Gama was the first runner-up.
The competition was held on May 16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood, Miami, Florida.
Defending winner Jojibini Tunzi crowned Miss Universe on Meza’s head.
Tunzi, a South African resident, is the first black woman to win the title of Miss Universe.
India’s first Miss Universe Sushmita Sen won the title in 1994.
Lara Dutt won the Miss Universe title in 2000 and is the second Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title since 2000.
The first Miss Universe competition was held in 1952 in which Army Kusela of Finland won the first Miss Universe title.
NBA announced to launch social justice award in the name of Abdul Jabbari
The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced the Social Justice Champion Award, naming Hall of Famer Karim Abdul-Jabbar.
The winning player will receive $ 100,000 for a charity of their choice.

Rafael Nadal wins 10th Italian Open title
World No. 3 player Rafael Nadal (Spain) won the 10th Italian Open title after defeating world number-1 player Novak Djokovic (Serbia) in the finals of the tennis tournament Italian Open 2021.
In the women’s section, Polish teenager Inga Swietek won the Italian Open title by defeating ninth seed Carolina Pliskova.

NASA and Axiom Space Signed for ISS First Private Astronaut Mission
Recently NASA National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and private space company ‘Axiom Space’ have signed for ‘Axiom Mission 1’ (AX-1).
Under this agreement, Axiom will send its astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).
The AX-1 mission is the first private astronaut mission to launch private citizens into the International Space Station.
It will be launched in 2022 from NASA’s Canady Space Center in Florida.

Former CBI officer K.K. Ragothaman passed away
Former Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer K.K., who was the Chief Investigating Officer in the murder of former Prime Minister of the country, Rajiv Gandhi. Ragothaman passed away.
He was awarded the Police Medal in 1988 and the President’s Medal in 1994.
Ragothaman has written several books including “Conspiracy to Kill Rajiv Gandhi, Third Degree Crime Investigation Management: Crime and the Criminal”.
He also made a documentary titled ‘Human Bomb’.

Tashi Yangjom became the first woman to climb Mount Everest in 2021
37-year-old Tashi Yangjom of Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district has become the first Indian woman to reach Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak in 2021.
She is the ninth mountaineer to conquer Everest from the National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports.
Mount Everest Height: 8,848.86 m.
In Nepal, it is known as Sagarmatha (meaning the top of heaven).
In Tibet it is known as Chomolangma (Queen of Mountains).
Mount Everest was named after surveyor and geographer George Everest of Wales.
Sir David Attenborough named COP26 People’s Advocate
A natural historian and world-renowned broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough was appointed as the People’s Advocate of COP26 for the UK Presidency of the United Nations Climate Change Summit to be held in Glasgow in November 2021.
The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference.
It is scheduled to be held in the city of Glasgow from 1 to 12 November 2021 under the chairmanship of the United Kingdom.
