Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has been elected as the President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
For this he competed with the former Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Dr. Zalmay Rasool.
Maldives got 143 votes while Afghanistan got 48 votes.
Shahid Abdullah will take charge in September.
He will replace Volkan Bozkir of Turkey.

Lt Governor of Ladakh launches ‘YounTab’ scheme for students

Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur launched a scheme called “YounTab” for the students.
Under which free tablets will be distributed to about 12,300 students studying in schools.

Uttar Pradesh launches ‘Pink Booth’ scheme for women’s Covid-19 vaccination

To remove the hesitation of women regarding the vaccine, ‘Special Pink Booths’ have been started for women in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Only women and girls will be given the corona vaccine at these booths.

PM Modi launches project of E-100 ethanol distribution stations at three locations in Pune

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the issue of ethanol on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5).
PM Modi released “Report of the Expert Committee on Roadmap for Ethanol Blending in India 2020-2025”.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Promoting Biofuels for a Better Environment’.
PM launched a pilot project of E100 ethanol distribution stations at three locations in Pune, Maharashtra.
The government has re-set the target of achieving 20% ​​ethanol blending in petrol by 2025.
Earlier this target was to be met by 2030.
Ethanol: Ethanol is an eco-friendly fuel.
Ethanol is a type of alcohol that is mixed with petrol and used as fuel in vehicles.
Ethanol is produced from sugarcane.
Adding ethanol to petrol will help in reducing the pollution caused by the use of petrol.
