CBSE partners with Microsoft to include Coding and Data Science in courses
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to introduce coding for the students of classes 6 to 8 and data science for the students of classes 8 to 12 from the board session 2021-22.
CBSE Board, in association with Microsoft is introducing two new skill subjects.
Both these subjects are being launched in line with the National Policy on Education (NEP) 2020.

NCPCR prepares online portal ‘Bal Swaraj’ for children affected by Corona
In view of the increasing problem related to children affected by Corona, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has prepared an online tracking portal “Bal Swaraj”.
This portal has been created with an objective to track and monitor the children who need care and protection digitally in real time.

Maharashtra teacher Ranjitsinh Disale appointed as World Bank Education Advisor
Ranjitsinh Disale of Paritwadi village in Solapur district of Maharashtra has been appointed as the World Bank Education Advisor from June 2021 to June 2024.
Disale is the first Indian to be awarded the ‘Global Teacher Award’ in the year 2020.

Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid has been elected as the President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
For this he competed with the former Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, Dr. Zalmay Rasool.
Maldives got 143 votes while Afghanistan got 48 votes.
Shahid Abdullah will take charge in September.
He will replace Volkan Bozkir of Turkey.

Lt Governor of Ladakh launches ‘YounTab’ scheme for students
Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur launched a scheme called “YounTab” for the students.
Under which free tablets will be distributed to about 12,300 students studying in schools.
With this, Ladakh has become the first Union Territory in the country to distribute free tablets to school children.
Uttar Pradesh launches ‘Pink Booth’ scheme for women’s Covid-19 vaccination
To remove the hesitation of women regarding the vaccine, ‘Special Pink Booths’ have been started for women in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Only women and girls will be given the corona vaccine at these booths.
Initially, two pink booths have been set up in all 75 districts and the health workers will also be women.
Kerala launches ‘Knowledge Economy Mission’
The Government of Kerala has launched ‘Knowledge Economy Mission’ to boost job prospects in the state.
The initiative was announced in the state budget on June 4.
It is being led by the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC).

Delhi government launched ‘Where Vote There Vaccination’ campaign
The Delhi government has launched a campaign ‘Jahan Vote, Wahan Vaccination’ to vaccinate people above 45 years of age.
Under this, people above 45 years of age will be provided vaccines at the places where they voted during the election.
Under this campaign, booth level officers will go door-to-door to provide vaccination slots to people above 45 years of age.
PM Modi launches project of E-100 ethanol distribution stations at three locations in Pune
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the issue of ethanol on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5).
PM Modi released “Report of the Expert Committee on Roadmap for Ethanol Blending in India 2020-2025”.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Promoting Biofuels for a Better Environment’.
PM launched a pilot project of E100 ethanol distribution stations at three locations in Pune, Maharashtra.
The government has re-set the target of achieving 20% ethanol blending in petrol by 2025.
Earlier this target was to be met by 2030.
Ethanol: Ethanol is an eco-friendly fuel.
Ethanol is a type of alcohol that is mixed with petrol and used as fuel in vehicles.
Ethanol is produced from sugarcane.
Adding ethanol to petrol will help in reducing the pollution caused by the use of petrol.
