Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary became the seventh national park of Assam
Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts of Assam, has been notified as the seventh national park of the state.
It was recognized as a wildlife sanctuary in 2004.
Its total area is 111.19 square kilometer.
Earlier, on June 5 i.e. World Environment Day, Raimona was declared as the sixth national park of Assam.
Assam has become the state with the second largest number of national parks in the country.
There are nine national parks in Madhya Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar.

Kaziranga National Park – Famous for One Horned Rhinoceros.

Nameri National Park
Orang National Park and
Dibru-Saikhowa National Park
QS World University Ranking 2022
London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the World University Rankings 2022.
In the ranking, three universities of the country have made it to the top-200.
While eight Indian universities have been ranked in the top-400 global universities.

Facebook appoints Spurti Priya as Grievance Officer in India
Social media company Facebook has appointed Spurti Priya as Grievance Officer for India.
This step has been taken due to the recently implemented new IT Rules 2021.
Under these rules, social media mediators with more than 50 lakh users are required to appoint a grievance officer, nodal officer and a chief compliance officer.
The persons appointed to this post will have to remain in India.
Recently Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp appointed Paresh B Lal as its Grievance Officer.

International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has launched a global database named “I-Familia”.
It has been developed with the aim of helping the police in identifying missing persons using family DNA and solving complex cases of member countries.

GST Collection May 2021: Rs 1.03 lakh crore
The Goods and Services (GST) collection in the month of May stood at Rs 1.02 lakh crore.
This is the eighth consecutive month that the GST collection figure has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore.
The GST collection in May, 2021 is 65% higher as compared to the same month last year.

Former India boxer and Asian Games gold medalist Dinko Singh passed away.
Dinko Singh, who hails from Manipur, was awarded the Arjuna Award in 1998 and Padma Shri in 2013.
He won the gold medal for India in the 1998 Asian Games.
