IIT Roorkee professor wins NSG award for ‘explosion resistant helmet’
Professor Shailesh Govind Ganpule from IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand has designed an “explosion-resistant” helmet.
For which he has been awarded the ‘NSG Counter-IED and Counter-Terrorism Innovator Award 2021’.
The award was instituted in the year 2020 by the National Security Guard (NSG) to encourage innovation in view of the safety of the jawans.
Chess player D. Gukesh won the title of Gelfand Challenge Chess 2021
Indian chess player D. Gukesh won the $15,000 Gelfand Challenge Chess title as well as a ‘wild card’ for the Meltwaters Champions Chess Tour.
He is the second youngest person to qualify for the title of Grandmaster in March 2019.

‘Vayan’ becomes the first village in the country to vaccinate the entire adult population
Wayan village in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir has become the first village in the country where all adults have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Total 362 adults live in Wayan Village.
The corona vaccination campaign in the village was implemented under the ‘Jammu-Kashmir model’, a 10-point strategy to vaccinate the entire population at a rapid pace.
10 players including Vinoo Mankad inducted into ICC Hall of Fame
The International Cricket Council (ICC) inducted 10 players into the ‘Hall of Fame’.
India’s legend Vinoo Mankad has also been included in these players.
Vinu has received this honor for his outstanding performance in the post-World War II era (1946-70).

Social media company Facebook, in collaboration with civil society organizations such as Aarambh India Initiative, Cyber Peace Foundation and Arpan, has launched a “Report It, Don’t Share It” initiative to prevent online child abuse.
