Every year on 18 June, ‘Sustainable Gastronomy Day’ is celebrated all over the world.
On December 21, 2016, a resolution was passed by the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate this day.
Gastronomy is the study of the relationship between food and cultures.
Gastronomy means the practice or art of choosing, cooking and eating good food.

Vinesh Phogat wins gold medal at Poland Open
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the 53kg of the Poland Open.
She defeated Ukraine’s Kristina Bereza in the final.
This is Vinesh’s third title of the season, having won gold in the Matteo Pelicone event and the Asian Championships.
The Government of India honored Vinesh Phogat with the Arjuna Award in 2016.
IIT Ropar develops country’s first electricity free CPAP device ‘Jeevan Vayu’
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar has developed the country’s first electrical free CPAP device “Jeevan Vayu”.
Which can be used as an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine.
It also works without electricity and is optimized for both oxygen generation units like oxygen cylinders and oxygen pipelines in hospitals.
CPAP therapy is a treatment method for patients with a condition called ‘sleep apnea’ (difficulty breathing during sleep).
Mushfiqur Rahim and Katherine Bryce named ICC Player of the Month for May

Madhya Pradesh government started ‘Yuva Shakti Corona Mukti Abhiyan’
The Madhya Pradesh government has launched ‘Yuva Shakti Corona Mukti Abhiyan’ to make the people of the state aware about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under this campaign, about 16 lakh students and teachers of government higher and technical education colleges will be provided training on ‘Covid friendly behavior and vaccination’.
A mobile app has also been developed to make this campaign effective.
47th G7 Summit
Recently the 47th G7 summit was held in Cornwall, United Kingdom (UK) from 11 June to 13 June 2021.
It was hosted by the United Kingdom (UK) as the presidency of the G7 for 2021.
Prime Minister Modi virtually participated in this conference.
Although India is not a member of the G7, the United Kingdom had invited India to participate in the conference.

Earlier this group was called G-8 which also included Russia.

Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana and UAE selected for UNSC
Five countries Brazil, UAE, Albania, Ghana and Gabon have been elected as temporary members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
These countries will start the term in the council for a two-year term from January 1, 2022.
Ghana received the most votes (185) as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
While Gabon got 183, Brazil 181, United Arab Emirates 179 and Albania got 175 votes.
Albania has been elected to the council for the first time, while this is Brazil’s 11th chance to join the council.

Australian swimmer Kylie McCain sets a world record in the 100m backstroke event
Australian swimmer Kylie McCain recently set a new world record by covering the distance in just 57.45 seconds in the 100m backstroke event.
Before him, this record was in the name of American swimmer Regan Smith.
Who set a world record in the 2019 World Championships by completing the 100m backstroke event in 57.57 seconds.
IIT Kanpur professor Mukesh Sharma becomes advisor to WHO
Professor Mukesh Sharma, from the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, has been appointed as an Honorary Member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Air Pollution and Health Technical Advisory Group.
He will work on reducing air pollution around the world.

National Geographic magazine recognizes ‘South Ocean’ as world’s 5th ocean
On the occasion of World Oceans Day (June 8), National Geographic magazine has recognized the ‘Southern Ocean’ as the fifth ocean of the world.
The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) also recognized the ‘Southern Ocean’ as a separate part of the waters around Antarctica in 1937 but rejected it in 1953.
Ocean: 71% of the Earth’s surface is covered by oceans and the largest ocean in the world is the Pacific Ocean.
At the same time, there is the Atlantic Ocean at number two, the Indian Ocean at number three and the South Ocean at number four and the smallest ocean is the Arctic Ocean.
