Jamsetji Tata tops the first list of top philanthropists of the century

Emerging as the largest philanthropist globally in the last 100 years, Jamsetji Tata donated US$102.4 billion, according to the top-50 list prepared by the Hurun Report and EdelGive Foundation.
He is the only Indian to feature in the top 10 list compiled by Hurun Research and EdelGive Foundation.

The Delhi government has appointed former Olympic medalist Karnam Malleswari as the first Vice Chancellor of the Delhi Sports University.
She is the first Indian female weightlifter to win an Olympic medal.
He won a bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Malleswari was awarded the Arjuna Award in 1994 and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1999.
He was awarded the Padma Shri award in 1999.
Weightlifter Karnam Malleswari is popularly known as ‘The Iron Lady’.


Denmark became the first country to ratify the International Solar Alliance Framework Agreement (ISA FA)

Denmark has signed the International Solar Alliance Framework Agreement (ISA FA) and instrument of ratification with India.
With this Denmark has become the first country to ratify the International Solar Alliance Framework Agreement (ISA FA).
The new ISA Framework Agreement came into force on January 8, 2021.
ISA is a coalition of more than 121 countries.

Odisha government launches ‘Aashirvaad’ scheme for Covid orphans

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced ‘Aashirbad’ scheme for education, health and maintenance of COVID orphans.
Under this scheme orphan children will get financial assistance of Rs 2500 every month.
