National Doctors’ Day is celebrated every year on 01 July in India.
This day is celebrated in the memory of the great physician and second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhanchandra Rai.
Born on 1 July 1882 in Patna district of Bihar, Dr Bidhan Chandra Rai died on 1 July 1962.
He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, on 4 February 1961.
National Doctor’s Day was first celebrated in 1991.

China builds world’s second largest hydroelectric dam
China has started operation of the world’s second largest hydroelectric station, the Baihetan Dam, on June 28, 2021.
The 289 m (948 ft) high Beihetan Dam has been established on the Jinsha River in southwest China.
The Jinsha River is a tributary of the Yangtze River, the longest river in Asia and the third longest in the world.
The Baihetan Hydroelectric Dam has been built with a total installed capacity of 16,000 MW.
World’s largest hydroelectric dam: China’s Three Gorges Dam (on the Yangtze River)
This dam generates 22,500 MW of electricity.
