राष्ट्रीय टीकाकरण दिवस: 16 मार्च
टीकाकरण की उपयोगिता को पूरे देश में प्रसारित कर लोगों जागरुक बनाने के उद्देश्य से हर वर्ष 16 मार्च को ‘राष्ट्रीय टीकाकरण दिवस’ मनाया जाता है. राष्ट्रीय टीकाकरण दिवस मनाने के पीछे मुख्य उद्देश्य सभी लोगों को पोलियो के खिलाफ जागरूक करने और दुनिया से इसे पूरी तरह से मिटाने के प्रयास करना है.
यह दिन पहली बार वर्ष 1995 में मनाया गया था। 1995 में भारत ने पल्स पोलियो कार्यक्रम शुरू किया और ओरल पोलियो वैक्सीन की पहली खुराक दी गई।
National Vaccination Day is observed on 16 March every year with the aim of making the awareness of the usefulness of vaccination spread throughout the country. अमेरिका से भारत का तेल आयात फरवरी 2021 में 48% बढ़कर 5,45,300 बैरल प्रति दिन (bpd) के रिकॉर्ड स्तर पर पहुँच गया था। फरवरी में भारत के कुल आयात का यह 14 प्रतिशत था। दूसरी ओर, जनवरी 2021 से सऊदी अरब से भारत का आयात 42 प्रतिशत घट गया हा। यह घटकर 4,45,200 बीपीडी के दशक के निचले स्तर पर आ गया है।
चीन, अमेरिका के साथ चल रहे व्यापार तनावों के कारण अमेरिका से कच्चा तेल नहीं खरीद सकता है, जिसके चलते अमेरिका के पास भारत के रूप में एकमात्र तेल खरीदार बचता है। भारत दुनिया में तीसरा सबसे बड़ा तेल आयातक और उपभोक्ता है। भारत ने वैश्विक स्तर पर तेल की कीमत में वृद्धि में योगदान के लिए सऊदी अरब की स्वैच्छिक कटौती की ओर भी इशारा किया था।

China cannot buy crude from the US due to ongoing trade tensions with the US, leaving the US as the only oil buyer in India. India is the third largest oil importer and consumer in the world. India also pointed to Saudi Arabia's voluntary cuts to contribute to the rise in the oil price globally.

हुरुन इंडिया वेल्थ रिपोर्ट 2020
हुरुन इंडिया वेल्थ रिपोर्ट, 2020 को 16 मार्च, 2020 को जारी किया गया। इस रिपोर्ट में भारत में ‘न्यू मिडिल क्लास’ नामक नई घरेलू श्रेणी की पहचान की गई है, जिसमें औसतन 20 लाख रुपये प्रतिवर्ष की बचत होती है। इस रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि ‘न्यू मिडिल क्लास घरों में प्राथमिक आवासीय संपत्ति और ऑटोमोबाइल जैसी भौतिक संपत्ति की ओर बड़ा आवंटन है। इस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत में इस तरह कुल परिवारों की कुल संख्या 6,33,000 है।
रिपोर्ट के अनुसार पूरे भारत में लगभग 4,12,000 डॉलर-मिलियनेयर घर हैं, जिनकी कुल संपत्ति 7 करोड़ रुपये है।

हिंद महासागर में नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ ओशनोग्राफी (NIO) जीनोम मैपिंग की अपनी तरह की पहली परियोजना शुरू करेगी। इसका उद्देश्य हिंद महासागर में सूक्ष्मजीवों के जीनोम मैपिंग के नमूनों को इकट्ठा करना है।

संसद ने मेडिकल टर्मिनेशन ऑफ प्रेगनेंसी (अमेंडमेंट) बिल-2020 पारित किया
संसद में मेडिकल टर्मिनेशन ऑफ प्रेगनेंसी विधेयक-2020 पारित हो गया है. इसमें गर्भपात की सीमा बढ़ाकर 24 हफ्ते करने का प्रवाधान है. इससे पहले महिलाएं अधिकतम 20 हफ्ते तक ही गर्भपात करा सकती थीं.
यह प्रावधान विशेष वर्ग की महिलाओं के लिए किया गया है. इस प्रावधान में दुष्कर्म पीड़िता, सगे-संबंधियों की बुरी नजर की शिकार पीड़िताएं, दिव्यांग और नाबालिग शामिल हैं. चिकित्सकीय, मानवीय और सामाजिक आधार पर इस प्रावधान को लागू किया जा सकता है. इस विधेयक का मुख्य उद्देश्य स्त्रियों की सुरक्षित गर्भपात सेवाओं तक पहुंच में वृद्धि करने तथा असुरक्षित गर्भपात के कारण मातृ मृत्यु दर और अस्वस्थता दर एवं उसकी जटिलताओं में कमी लाना है.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक द्वारा शुक्रवार को जारी ताजा आंकड़ों के मुताबिक भारत का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार 5 मार्च को समाप्त सप्ताह में 4.3 अरब डॉलर घटर 580.3 अरब डॉलर रह गया, वहीं इस दौरान रूस का विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार घटकर 580.1 अरब डॉलर रह गया। इस तेज गिरावट के कारण भारत अब रूस को पीछे छोड़कर चौथे स्थान पर आ गया है।
दुनिया के सबसे बड़े विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार वाले देशों की सूची में चीन शीर्ष पर है। इसके बाद क्रमश: जापान और स्विट्जरलैंड का स्थान है। चौथे नंबर पर भारत और पांचवें स्थान पर रूस है।

गोवा के जाने-माने चित्रकार लक्ष्मण पंढरीनाथ पाई का हाल ही में 95 वर्ष की उम्र में गोवा में निधन हो गया है। वर्ष 1926 में गोवा के मडगाँव में जन्मे लक्ष्मण पाई को कई प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया, जिनमें पद्म भूषण, पद्म श्री, नेहरू पुरस्कार और ललित कला अकादमी पुरस्कार आदि शामिल हैं।
लक्ष्मण पाई ने गोवा मुक्ति आंदोलन में भी हिस्सा लिया और भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भूमिका के कारण उन्हें जेल भी भेजा गया।
Well-known Goa painter Laxman Pandharinath Pai has recently died in Goa at the age of 95. Born in Madgaon, Goa in 1926, Laxman Pai was honored with several prestigious awards, including Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Nehru Award and Lalit Kala Academy Award.
Laxman Pai also participated in the Goa Liberation Movement and was also jailed for his role in the Indian freedom struggle.

Indian captain Virat Kohli has crossed the 3000-run mark in Twenty20 Internationals with his last shot in the second T20I against England. Kohli hit an innings of 73 runs, faced 49 balls, which helped India equalize the five-match T20I series. He also became the third captain in international cricket to score 12000 runs as a captain. He joined the elite list along with veteran captain Ricky Ponting and Graeme Smith.
