International Week of the Deaf: 20 to 26 September 2021
The World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) celebrates the entire week ending on the last Sunday of September every year as ‘International Week of the Deaf’.
This year it is being celebrated from 20 to 26 September 2021.

World Rhino Day: 22 September
World Rhino Day is celebrated globally on 22 September every year.
The day is celebrated with the aim of creating awareness about the protection of five species of rhinoceros namely Black Rhino, White Rhino, Greater One-horned Rhino, Sumatran Rhino and Java Rhino.
Only one-horned rhinoceros is found in India.

Geeta Samota becomes “Fastest Indian” to conquer two peaks in Africa and Russia
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman officer Geeta Samota has become the “fastest Indian” to scale two peaks located in Africa and Russia.
She scaled Europe’s highest Mount Elbrus (5,642 m) in Russia.
Geeta Samota had also successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m), the highest peak in the continent of Africa, located in Tanzania.
