Indian-origin Samir Banerjee wins Wimbledon Junior Men’s Championship title
Indian-American tennis player Sameer Banerjee has won the Wimbledon Junior Men’s Championship title.
In the boys’ singles final, Sameer Banerjee defeated Viktor Lilov of America 7-5, 6-3 in straight sets to clinch the title.
Ramanathan Krishnan was the first Indian to win the Junior Wimbledon Championships in 1954.

National Film Archive of India adds film ‘PK’ to its collection
The National Film Archive of India has included the 2014 film ‘PK’ in its collection.
The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma.
The National Film Archive of India (NFAI) was established in 1964 as a media unit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
25 member development council constituted for cement industry
The Central Government has constituted a 25-member Development Council for the cement industry.
Dalmia Bharat Group CMD Puneet Dalmiya will be the chairman of this council.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Player of the Month award for the month of June.
In the men’s category, New Zealand opener Dwayne Conway has been named the ICC Player of the Month.
In the women’s category, England’s left arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone has been named as the ICC Women’s Player of the Month.
Ecclestone is the second woman player from England to receive this award.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated India’s first private Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG): LNG is the liquefied form of natural gas which is mainly a mixture of methane (CH4) with some ethane (C2H6).
Natural gas is brought to a liquid state by cooling to 160 °C.
Many impurities are separated from natural gas during the process of making liquefied natural gas.
That is why LNG is said to be the purest form of natural gas.
