World Malaria Day was observed for the first time on 25 April 2008.
The day was started by UNICEF to celebrate.
Malaria is spread by Plasmodium protozoa parasites.
The female anophyllase mosquito is the carrier of the malaria parasite.
Malaria parasites multiply by entering red blood cells (RBCs) on its bite, causing symptoms of anemia (dizziness, shortness of breath, ejaculation, etc.).
Apart from this, nonspecific symptoms such as fever, cold, nausea and cold are also seen.

Rumana Sinha Sehgal wins Nelson Mandela World Humanitarian Award 2021
Hyderabad-based businesswoman Rumana Sinha Sehgal won the ‘Nelson Mandela World Humanitarian Award’ 2021 by Diplomatic Mission Global Peace.

Atanu Chakraborty appointed as part-time chairman of HDFC Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of Atanu Chakraborty as part-time chairman of the private sector HDFC (“Housing Development Finance Corporation”) bank.
Atanu Chakraborty, a 1985 batch Gujarat cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has been the Economic Affairs Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.
With Atanu Chakraborty appointed as the chairman of HDFC Bank, HDFC became the second private sector bank to have a former IAS officer as its chairman.
Prior to this, GC Chaturvedi was former Petroleum Secretary in private sector bank ICICI ( Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India) Bank and Additional Secretary in Ministry of Finance was appointed as the chairman.
