Bangladesh’s 50 years of independence: 26 March 2021

On March 26, 2021 Bangladesh has completed 50 years of independence from Pakistan.

On 26 March 1971, Bangladesh founder Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman declared Bangladesh independent and led the Bangladesh Liberation War.

After this, the freedom struggle started for nine months. The conflict came to an end with the surrender of Pakistan’s army to India on 16 December 1971.

Bangladesh celebrates 16 December as victory day.

Nirmala Sitharaman launches IEPFA mobile app and central scrutiny center

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman virtually inaugurated the Central Scrutiny Center and Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) mobile app on March 25, 2021.

First joint patrol between India and Madagascar

On March 2021, the Navies of India and Madagascar jointly patrolled Madagascar’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and also operated a Passion Exercise (PASSEX).

The first joint patrol between the Navy marks the growing defense relationship between the two Indian Ocean neighbors for the common purpose of ensuring maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
