International Day of Parliamentarism is celebrated globally on 30 June every year.
In May 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 30 as the International Day of Parliamentarianism by passing a resolution.
On this day in the year 1889, the global organization of parliaments, the IPU-Inter-Parliamentary Union, was established.

International Asteroid Day: 30 June
International Asteroid Day is observed every year on 30 June.
On June 30, 1908, there was a huge explosion near the Tunguska River in Russia, which is said to be the biggest loss ever caused by an asteroid.
For this reason, to make aware about the danger of asteroids, 30 June started celebrating Asteroid Day.
Asteroids are celestial bodies found between the planets Mars and Jupiter in the Solar System.
The first asteroid, Ceres, was discovered in 1819 by the astronomer Giuseppe Piazzi.

The author of this book is Sudeep Mishra.
India’s first openly gay athlete Dutee Chand created history in 2019 when she became the first Indian to win a gold in the 100m event at the World Universiade in Naples.
P. Sainath honored with Japan’s prestigious Fukuoka Prize 2021
Senior journalist and founding editor of People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI) Palagummi Sainath has been conferred with Japan’s prestigious Grand Fukuoka Prize 2021.
This award was started in Japan in 1990.
From the year 1991, this award was given in three categories (Academic, Grand, Art and Culture).
Prior to P Sainath, composer AR Rahman and historian Ramachandra Guha have also been honored with this award.
DRDO successfully test-fires ‘Agni P’ (Agni Prime) ballistic missile
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully test-fired Agni-class Agni P (Prime) missile.
It was launched from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

Cristiano Ronaldo becomes joint top scorer in men’s international football
Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo has become the joint top scorer in men’s international football along with Iran’s Ali Dei.
Ronaldo achieved the major milestone during Portugal’s Euro 2020 game against France at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
He has 109 goals in 176 matches.

Praveen Sinha has been appointed as the new Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The special director is the second senior most position in the agency after the director.

He has received this honor for his outstanding contribution in establishing oil refinery in Mongolia.

French non-fiction writer Emmanuel Carrer has been honored with the Spanish Princess of Austria Literature Award 2021.
The award is given annually by the Princess of Asturias Foundation.
The amount of this prize is 50,000 euros.
Ukraine and US begin naval exercise “Sea Breeze Drills” in the Black Sea
Ukraine and the United States are co-hosting a joint naval exercise “Sea Breeze Drills” in the Black Sea.
The Sea Breeze exercise, held 21 times since 1997, will involve around 5,000 military personnel from over 30 countries.
The Black Sea is a continental sea bounded by the peninsula (Turkey) of southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Anatolia.
The Danube River of Europe drains into the Black Sea.
The exercise began on June 28, 2021 and will last for two weeks.

Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) instead of India.
The 16-team tournament will begin on October 17 while the final will be played on November 14.
