The awards were first introduced in 1954.
Mahendra Giri won the International Ranger Award
Ranger Mahendra Giri of Rajaji Tiger Reserve become the only ranger of asia to win the international ranger award.
The award announced by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and the International Ranger Award by the WCPA (World Commission on Protected Areas).
Rajaji National Park was established in Uttarakhand in the year 1983, incorporating three wildlife sanctuaries Chila, Motichur and Rajaji Sanctuaries.
It was named Rajaji National Park after the great freedom fighter Chakravarti Rajagopalachari.
The park is known for the number of elephants found here.
Former RBI Deputy Governor KC Chakraborty passed away
Former Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India, KC Chakraborty passed away.
Chakraborty served as deputy governor of RBI from 15 June 2009 to 25 April 2014 after working at Bank of Baroda, Indian Bank and Punjab National Bank.

India and America conducted military exercises: ‘Vajra Prahar’
The 11th edition of the ‘Vajra Prahar’ military exercise conducted between the special forces of India and the US.
The exercise was held at Bakloh in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.
New train “Mithali Express” between India-Bangladesh inaugurated
Prime Minister of India Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the “Mithali Express” train between India and Bangladesh.
The train will connect Dhaka in Bangladesh and New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.
It is the third passenger train between the two countries after the Maitree Express (Dhaka-Kolkata) and Bandhan Express (Khulna-Kolkata).
S&P raises India’s GDP growth estimate by 11% in FY 2021-22
S&P Global Ratings has raised India’s growth forecast to 11% from 10% in the financial year 2021-22.

Jeet Thail has written a book called “Names of the Women”.
Jeet Thail is known for his book ‘Narcopolis’, which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2012 and won the DSC Award for South Asian Literature.
His book ‘Low (Low)’ released in 2020.
