Governors of 8 states were changed for the first time

President of India Ram Nath Kovind has appointed new governors for eight states.
List of new governors:

3.Haribabu kambhampatiWill be the Governor of Mizoram.
Member of Parliament from Visakhapatnam.
He has been the president of the Andhra Pradesh BJP unit.
4.Rajendra Vishwanath ArlekarHe will be the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
He is a former speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly.
Arlekar is given the credit for making Goa Assembly paperless.
5.Bandaru DattatreyaWill be the Governor of Haryana, till now he was the Governor of Himachal.
6.PAS Sreedharan PillaiWill be the Governor of Goa, till now was the Governor of Mizoram.
7.Ramesh BaisWill be the governor of Jharkhand, till now was the governor of Tripura
He will replace Draupadi Murmu.
8.Satyadev Narayan AryaWill be governor of Tripura, till now he was governor of Haryana.

PM Modi inaugurates ‘Covin Global Conclave’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and addressed the virtual CoWin Global Conclave on 05 July 2021.
Delegates from 142 countries participated in this global meeting.
Nearly 50 countries, including Canada, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama and Uganda, have shown interest in adopting CoVin, a digital platform for vaccination campaigns.
The conclave was jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and National Health Authority (NHA).


52nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar released the poster along with the rules for the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Which will be organized in Goa from November 20 to November 28.
“Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Cinema” has been instituted from this year.
International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was started in the year 1952.


7th edition of ‘Indian Ocean Naval Symposium’ concludes in France

The 7th edition of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) was organized by the French Navy at La Reunion from 28 June to 01 July 2021.
From the Indian side Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Indian Navy participated in the inaugural session of the event virtually
IONS is a biennial event, conceived by the Indian Navy in the year 2008.
It consists of 24 member states bordering the Indian Ocean Region and 8 observer states.
IONS is chaired by Islamic Republic of Iran in 2018-21.
France assumed the presidency in June 2021 for a two-year term.

RBI imposes fine of Rs 25 lakh on Punjab and Sind Bank

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a fine of Rs 25 lakh on state-owned Punjab and Sind Bank.
According to RBI, the bank was informed about some cyber incidents on May 16 and May 20, 2020.
The bank had to act on this but it showed negligence.
Hence the penalty has been imposed on the bank.

Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar passed away

Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar passed away at the age of 98.
Dilip Kumar was born on 11 December 1922 in Peshawar (present-day Pakistan).
His childhood name was ‘Mohammed Yusuf Khan’.
He was known as the “Tragedy King” of Bollywood.
He started his career in 1944 with the film ‘Jwar Bhata’.
Dilip Kumar was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1991.
He received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.
In 1994, he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honor of Indian cinema.
The Government of Pakistan honored him with the highest civilian award ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ in 1998.
In 2015, Dilip Kumar was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award.
Dilip Kumar was the only actor to have won 8 Filmfare Awards for Best Actor.
He and Shah Rukh Khan jointly held the record for most Filmfare trophies.
Dilip Kumar worked in his last film ‘Qila’ in the year 1998.


KN Bhattacharjee appointed as the new Lokayukta of Tripura

The Tripura government has appointed advocate Kalyan Narayan Bhattacharjee as the new Lokayukta of the state.
Bhattacharjee is the third Lokayukta of the state and the first person to hold office as a lawyer.
Pradeep Kumar Sarkar, a former judge of the Gujarat and Guwahati High Courts, was the first Lokayukta in Tripura.
The Lokayukta Act in Tripura is in force since 2008.
Lokayukta is an anti-corruption ombudsman organization in Indian states.
Once appointed, the Lokayukta cannot be dismissed or transferred by the government.
Can be removed only by passing an impeachment motion by the state assembly.


New species of spider will be known as 26/11 martyr Tukaram Omble

Mumbai Police jawan Tukaram Omble, who played a key role in catching terrorist Ajmal Kasab alive even after consuming 23 bullets in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, has been given a unique honor.
Naming two new species of spider recently discovered in Maharashtra, one of them has been named ‘Icius Tukarami’.
Tukaram Omble was awarded the Ashok Chakra posthumously in 2009.


Mithali Raj became the highest run-scorer Indian woman cricketer

Indian women’s cricket team’s ODI captain Mithali Raj has become the highest run-scorer in international cricket.
Mithali left behind former England captain Charlotte Edwards, who has 10273 runs to her name.
New Zealand’s Suzy Bates is at the third place in this list with 7849 runs.
Recently Mithali Raj has completed 22 years in International Cricket.
Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, she is the second player to play international cricket for 22 years.
He made his international debut on 26 June 1999.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched the ‘National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy- NIPUN’ India Mission on 5 July 2021.
It aims to meet the learning needs of children in the age group of 3 to 9 years.
Through this, every child will be able to achieve the necessary competition to learn reading, writing and numerical content by the end of Class III in the year 2026-27.
