The Reserve Bank of India has declared monetary policy for the next quarter on April 7, 2021. RBI has not made any changes in interest rates.

- The Monetary Policy Committee was formed on 27 June 2016.
- The RBI Governor is the ex-officio Chairman of this committee.
- Repo rate: Repo rate is the rate at which the Reserve Bank of India lends money to other commercial banks in the country.
- Reverse Repo Rate: The reverse repo rate is the rate at which the Reserve Bank of India borrows money from commercial banks in the country.
- Bank Rate: The common interest rate at which money is lent by the Reserve Bank to other banks is called ‘Bank Rate’.
- Marginal Standing Facility Rate (MSF): Under the Marginal Standing Facility, banks borrow from the Reserve Bank of India in an emergency to meet the shortage of inter-bank liquidity.
- Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR): The portion of the total deposits in a commercial bank that has to be compulsorily deposited with the Reserve Bank is called the ‘Cash Reserve Ratio’.
- Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR): The portion of the total deposits in a commercial bank that is required to be held in cash and foreign currency in its possession is called the ‘Statutory Liquidity Ratio’.

India’s first female cricket commentator Chandra Naidu passed away at the age of 88.
She was the first captain of the Indian cricket team and the daughter of former cricketer CK Naidu.
He made a commentary for the first time in a 1977 cricket match played in Indore between the teams of National Champions Bombay and MCC.
He wrote a book called ‘CK Naidu: A Dotter Remembers’ on his father’s life.

Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos topped the list for the fourth consecutive year.
According to the list, India has the third highest number of billionaires in the world after the US and China.

MC Mary Kom won Sports Star Decade of the Year Award
Six-time boxing world champion MC Mary Kom won the Sportstar of the Decade Award at the 2021 Giants of the Decade edition.
Abhinav Bindra, has been awarded the Inspirational Giant of Indian Sport. He is the only Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal.
