केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री हर्षवर्धन को साल 2025 तक भारत से ट्यूबरकुलोसिस यानी क्षय रोग को समाप्त किये जाने के अभियान में उनके उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए ‘स्टॉप टीबी पार्टनरशिप बोर्ड’ का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है. स्टॉप टीबी पार्टनरशिप बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष के रूप में हर्षवर्धन जुलाई 2021 को अपना पद संभालेंगे और उनका कार्यकाल तीन वर्षों का होगा.

El Salvador is the first country in Central America to be certified malaria free by the World Health Organization.
When a country proves "beyond a reasonable doubt" that there has been no indigenous transmission of the disease across the country for the past three years, the WHO issues a certificate of malaria eradication.

A report released by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri) stated that India's arms imports declined by 33% between 2011–15 and 2016–20. The report of international arms transfers mainly attributed the decline in India's arms imports in an attempt to reduce dependence on Russian weapons and complex procurement procedures. Russia was the most affected supplier, although India's US arms imports had also fallen by 46%.
According to the report, India's top three arms suppliers during 2016-20 were Russia (accounting for 49% of India's imports), France (18%) and Israel (13%). Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Mauritius were the top recipients of Indian military hardware.
