जो बाइडेन (Joe Biden) ने 20 जनवरी 2021 को एक ऐतिहासिक समारोह में अमेरिका के 46 वें राष्ट्रपति के तौर पर शपथ ली. डेमोक्रेटिक नेता बाइडेन को प्रधान न्यायाधीश जॉन रॉबर्ट्स ने कैपिटल बिल्डिंग के ‘वेस्ट फ्रंट' में पद एवं गोपनीयता की शपथ दिलायी. उनसे पहले कमला हैरिस ने देश की पहली महिला उपराष्ट्रपति के रूप में शपथ ली. वे देश की 49वीं उपराष्ट्रपति हैं. उन्हें अमेरिका की पहली महिला उप राष्ट्रपति बनने का गौरव भी हासिल हुआ है.
बाइडेन, ओबामा कार्यकाल के दौरान उपराष्ट्रपति थे और पहली बार 1987 में राष्ट्रपति पद के लिए भाग लेने वाले व्यक्ति है जिन्होंने 17 कार्यकालों की हड़बड़ी के साथ अपने कार्यकाल को समाप्त करने की योजना बनाई। बाइडेन अब तुरंत पेरिस जलवायु समझौते में फिर से शामिल हो जाएंगे और विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन से अमेरिका के बाहर निकलने पर रोक लगा देंगे और इमीग्रेशन, पर्यावरण, कोविड-19 और अर्थव्यवस्था के नए रास्ते तय करेंगे।

Democratic leader Biden was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Justice John Roberts at the 'West Front' of the Capitol Building. Before that, Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first female Vice President of the country. She is the 49th Vice President of the country. She also has the distinction of becoming the first female Vice President of America.
Biden was the Vice President during Obama's tenure and is the first person to run for the presidency in 1987, who planned to end his term with a hankering of 17 terms. Biden will now immediately rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement and prohibit the exit of the US from the World Health Organization and set new paths for immigration, the environment, the Covid-19 and the economy.

In the 2020 ranking:
Karnataka retained their first position in the Major States category. Maharashtra rose one place and finished second, while Tamil Nadu slipped to third place.
In the category of North East and hill states, Himachal Pradesh ranks first and is followed by Uttarakhand and Manipur.
Delhi ranks first in the index while Chandigarh has retained its second position in the Union Territories and Small States category.
उत्तराखंड ने मनरेगा कार्य दिवसों की संख्या को 100 से बढ़ाकर 150 किया
उत्तराखंड सरकार ने महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण रोजगार गारंटी अधिनियम (MGNREGA) के तहत कार्य दिवसों की संख्या को मौजूदा 100 दिनों से बढ़ाकर 150 दिन करने की घोषणा की है।
मनरेगा के तहत कार्य दिवसों में वृद्धि की यह घोषणा उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत ने की थी। मनरेगा कार्य दिवसों को बढ़ाने में आने वाली लागत का वहां उत्तराखंड सरकार द्वारा किया जायेगा। एक आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार, राज्य में अब तक 12.19 लाख जॉब कार्ड प्रदान किए जा चुके हैं। इसमें से, वर्ष 2020 में 2.66 लाख जॉब कार्ड प्रदान किए गए।
उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत ने ‘उत्तराखंड आजीविका एप्प’ भी लॉन्च की है। यह एप्प राज्य के बेरोजगार लोगों को मदद प्रदान करेगी।
नरेगा को पहले प्रधानमंत्री पीवी नरसिम्हा राव द्वारा वर्ष 1991 में किया गया था। मनरेगा वर्ष 2005 में पारित किया गया था। मनरेगा का उद्देश्य ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में आजीविका सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए 100 दिनों का रोजगार प्रदान करना है।
190 अटल उत्कृष्ट विद्यालय: उत्तराखंड सरकार अटल उत्कृष्ट विद्यालय के तहत राज्य में 190 स्कूल (प्रत्येक ब्लॉक में दो) खोलेगी। ये सभी स्कूल सीबीएसई से संबद्ध होंगे।
The Government of Uttarakhand has announced to increase the number of working days under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) from the present 100 days to 150 days.
This announcement of increase in working days under MNREGA was made by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. The cost incurred in extending the MNREGA working days will be borne by the Uttarakhand government there. According to an official release, so far 12.19 lakh job cards have been provided in the state. Of this, 2.66 lakh job cards were provided in the year 2020.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has also launched the 'Uttarakhand Aajeevika App'. This app will help unemployed people of the state.
NREGA was first performed by Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao in 1991. MNREGA was passed in the year 2005. The objective of MNREGA is to provide 100 days of employment to provide livelihood security in rural areas.
190 Atal School: Uttarakhand Government will open 190 schools (two in each block) in the state under Atal School. All these schools will be affiliated to CBSE.

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने नागपुर स्थित गोरेवाड़ा अंतरराष्ट्रीय चिड़ियाघर का नाम बदलकर ‘बालासाहेब ठाकरे गोरेवाड़ा अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्राणी उद्यान’ कर दिया है। मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे 26 जनवरी को चिड़ियाघर में भारतीय सफारी का उद्घाटन करेंगे.
The Maharashtra government has renamed the Gorewara International Zoo in Nagpur as 'Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park'. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will inaugurate the Indian Safari at the zoo on 26 January.

Jayant N. Khobragade, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
Jayant Khobragade is currently serving as Joint Secretary at the headquarters of the Ministry in Delhi. Khobragade is a 1995 batch Indian Foreign Service officer and is expected to take charge soon.

सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के नाम पर दिल्ली में होगा एक सड़क का नामकरण
दक्षिणी दिल्ली के एंड्रयूज गंज में एक सड़क का नाम जल्द ही दिवंगत फिल्म अभिनेता सुशांत सिंह राजपूत के नाम पर रखा जाएगा। इलाके के नगर निकाय ने इससे संबंधित प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी भी दे दी है।
21 जनवरी को सुशांत का 35वां जन्मदिन है। वह पिछले साल 14 जून को मुंबई के बांद्रा में अपने घर में मृत मिले थे।
A street in South Delhi's Andrews Ganj will soon be named after the late film actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The municipal body of the area has also approved the proposal related to it.
January 21 marks Sushant's 35th birthday. He was found dead at his home in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 June last year.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sanjeev Kumar as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Telecom Consultants India Limited (TCIL). According to an order of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Kumar has been appointed for a period of five years from the date of joining the post, or till retirement age, or further other orders, whichever is earlier. SAAW (Smart Anti Airfield Weapon) का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया गया
हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड (HAL) ने हाल ही में SAAW अर्थात ‘Smart Anti Airfield Weapon’ का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है। इसका परीक्षण ओडिशा तट से हॉक-आई विमान से किया गया।
‘Smart Anti Airfield Weapon’ का निर्माण अनुसंधान केंद्र इमारत (Research Centre Imarat), DRDO द्वारा स्वदेशी रूप से किया गया है। यह ऐसा पहला स्मार्ट हथियार है जिसे Hawk-Mk132 एयरक्राफ्ट से दागा गया है। हॉक-आई प्लेटफ़ॉर्म HAL के स्वामित्व में है और CSIR लैब्स और DRDO द्वारा स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित हथियारों और प्रणालियों के प्रमाणन के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। परीक्षण के दौरान SAAW को इस एयरक्राफ्ट से हथियार छोड़ा गया और इस मिशन ने सभी लक्ष्य सफलतापूर्वक प्राप्त किये।
SAAW एक ‘प्रीसाइज़ स्ट्राइक’ हथियार है जिसे एक एयरक्राफ्ट से दागा जाता है। यह 125 किलोग्राम श्रेणी का एक स्ट्राइक हथियार है जिसका इस्तेमाल दुश्मन एयरफ़ील्ड की संपत्ति जैसे कि बंकर, रडार, रनवे, टैक्सी ट्रैक इत्यादि पर हमला करने और उन्हें नष्ट करने के लिए किया जाता है। इससे पहले, SAAW को जैगुआर विमान से सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण से दागा गया था।

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has recently successfully tested the SAAW ie 'Smart Anti Airfield Weapon'. It was tested by Hawk-Eye aircraft off the Odisha coast.
The 'Smart Anti Airfield Weapon' has been built indigenously by the Research Center Imarat, DRDO. It is the first smart weapon to be fired from a Hawk-Mk132 aircraft. The Hawk-Eye platform is owned by HAL and used for the certification of indigenously developed weapons and systems by CSIR Labs and DRDO. During the test SAAW was discharged from this aircraft and the mission successfully achieved all targets.
The SAAW is a 'pre-strike strike' weapon which is fired by an aircraft. It is a 125 kg range strike weapon which is used to attack and destroy the assets of enemy airfields such as bunkers, radars, runways, taxi tracks etc. Earlier, SAAW was successfully test fired from a Jaguar aircraft.
