राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस: 25 जनवरी
भारत में प्रत्येक वर्ष 25 जनवरी को राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मनाया जाता है. राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मनाने का उद्देश्य युवाओं को मतदान के प्रति जागरूक करना है. 2021 को 11वां राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मनाया जा रहा है. NVD 2021 का विषय है- 'मेकिंग आवर वोटर्स एम्पावर्ड, विजिलेंट, सेफ एंड इन्फॉर्म्ड' अर्थात् मतदाताओं को सशक्त, सतर्क, सुरक्षित और जानकार बनाना. भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग (ECI) के स्थापना दिवस अर्थात् 25 जनवरी 1950 को मनाने के लिए 2011 से प्रतिवर्ष 25 जनवरी को देश भर में राष्ट्रीय मतदाता दिवस मनाया जाता है.
भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग (Election Commission of India): भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग एक स्वायत्त संवैधानिक प्राधिकरण है, इसका कार्य भारत में चुनावी प्रक्रिया का निर्वहन करना है। भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग देश में लोक सभा चुनाव, राज्यों में विधानसभा चुनाव, राष्ट्रपति तथा उप-राष्ट्रपति के चुनावों का निर्वहन करता है। भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग संविधान के अनुच्छेद 324 के तहत कार्य करता है। इसे जन प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम के तहत लागू किया गया था। भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग की स्थापना 25 जनवरी, 1950 को की गयी थी.
सुकुमार सेन भारत के पहले मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त थे। सुनील अरोड़ा वर्तमान 23 वें मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त हैं.

ग्लोबल इंटरनेट स्पीडटेस्ट इंडेक्स 2020
मोबाइल और ब्रॉडबैंड इंटरनेट स्पीड के मामले में भारत एक रैंकिंग फिर से खराब हो गई है। Ookla की दिसंबर 2020 ग्लोबल इंटरनेट स्पीडटेस्ट इंडेक्स में भारत को मोबाइल इंटरनेट स्पीड में 129वां पायदान मिला है, नई इंडेक्सिंग में कतर ने लंबी छलांग मारी है। कतर ने इंटरनेट स्पीड के मामले में दक्षिण कोरिया और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात को पीछे छोड़ दिया है।
ऊकला की दिसंबर 2020 की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक भारत में मोबाइल इंटरनेट की औसत डाउनलोडिंग स्पीड 4.4 फीसदी कम होकर 12.91Mbps पर आ गई है जो कि पहले यानी नवंबर 2020 में 13.51Mbps थी, हालांकि भारत में मोबाइल अपलोडिंग स्पीड में सुधार देखी गई है। नवंबर के मुकाबले दिसंबर में भारत में मोबाइल अपलोडिंग स्पीड 1.4 फीसदी अधिक रही है। नवंबर में मोबाइल अपलोडिंग स्पीड 4.90Mbps थी जो कि दिसंबर में 4.90Mbps तक पहुंची।
ग्लोबल ब्रॉडबैंड स्पीड के रैंकिंग में भारत 65वें नंबर पर है। भारत में ब्रॉडबैंड इंटरनेट की औसत स्पीड 53.90Mbps है, वहीं औसत अपलोडिंग स्पीड 50.75Mbps रही है।
ब्रॉडबैंड स्पीड के मामले में थाईलैंड ने बाजी मारी है। थाईलैंड में दिसंबर 2020 में ब्रॉडबैंड की औसत डाउनलोडिंग स्पीड 308.35Mbps रही है सिंगापुर 245.31Mbps की स्पीड के साथ दूसरे नंबर पर है। हॉन्गकॉन्ग 226.80Mbps की औसत स्पीड के साथ दूसरे नंबर से तीसरे नंबर पर खिसक गया है।
India has lost one ranking again in terms of mobile and broadband internet speeds. India ranked 129th in mobile internet speed in Ookla's December 2020 Global Internet Speedtest Index, Qatar has made a quantum jump in new indexing. Qatar has overtaken South Korea and the United Arab Emirates in terms of internet speed.
According to Okla's December 2020 report, the average downloading speed of mobile internet in India has come down by 4.4 per cent to 12.91Mbps from 13.51Mbps earlier i.e. in November 2020, although mobile uploading speed in India has seen improvement. The mobile uploading speed in India has been 1.4% higher in December as compared to November. The mobile uploading speed was 4.90Mbps in November which reached 4.90Mbps in December.
India ranks 65 in the Global Broadband Speed ranking. The average speed of broadband internet in India is 53.90Mbps, while the average uploading speed has been 50.75Mbps.
Thailand has won in terms of broadband speed. The average downloading speed of broadband in Thailand in December 2020 has been 308.35Mbps, Singapore is second with a speed of 245.31Mbps. Hong Kong has slipped from number two to number three with an average speed of 226.80Mbps.

नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार से सम्मानित बाल अधिकार कार्यकर्ता कैलाश सत्यार्थी ने वैश्विक नेताओं और अंतरराष्ट्रीय हस्तियों के साथ मिलकर बाल मजदूरी को समाप्त करने के अंतरराष्ट्रीय वर्ष में 'फेयर शेयर फॉर चिल्ड्रेन' नामक अभियान की शुरुआत की है. संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघ द्वारा सतत विकास लक्ष्य के तहत सन 2025 तक दुनिया से बाल श्रम खात्में का लक्ष्य रखा गया है. जिसके तहत साल 2021 को बाल श्रम उन्मूलन के अंतरराष्ट्रीय वर्ष के रूप में मनाया जा रहा है.
नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार विजेता कैलाश सत्यार्थी के नेतृत्व में यह अभियान यह सुनिश्चित करने का प्रयास करेगा कि बाल श्रम उन्मूलन के इस अंतरराष्ट्रीय वर्ष में प्रतेक मंच पर चर्चा की जाए और बाल श्रम को समाप्त करने हेतु हरेक मंच से विचार-विमर्श करते हुए तत्काल ठोस कार्रवाई की मांग की जाए. “फेयर शेयर फॉर चिल्ड्रेन” अभियान का मकसद बच्चों की आबादी के अनुपात के अनुसार बजट और संसाधनों आदि में उनकी उचित हिस्सेदारी सुनिश्चित कराना है.

भारत सरकार ने देश की अर्थव्यवस्था के लिए पर्यटन के महत्व के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए 25 जनवरी को राष्ट्रीय पर्यटन दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है. यह दिन पर्यटन और इसके सामाजिक, राजनीतिक, वित्तीय और सांस्कृतिक मूल्य के महत्व पर वैश्विक समुदाय के बीच जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए मनाया जाता है.
भारत पर्यटन के कई रूप जैसे सांस्कृतिक, प्रकृति, विरासत, शैक्षिक, व्यवसाय, खेल, ग्रामीण, चिकित्सा, क्रूज और पर्यावरण पर्यटन प्रदान करता है. पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने और विकास के लिए राष्ट्रीय नीतियों के निर्माण के लिए पर्यटन मंत्रालय भारत में नोडल एजेंसी है. यह केंद्रीय, राज्य एजेंसियों और सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के साथ भी समन्वय करता है.

इंडियन ब्रॉडकॉस्टिंग फाउंडेशन (आईबीएफ) के निदेशक मंडल ने जम्मू-कश्मीर उच्च न्यायालय की पूर्व मुख्य न्यायाधीश गीता मित्तल को ब्रॉडकास्टिंग कंटेंट कम्प्लेंट काउंसिल (बीसीसीसी) का नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। उल्लेखनीय है कि बीसीसीसी स्व नियामक निकाय है जिसकी स्थापना आईबीएफ ने जून 2011 में की थी और देश में गैर समाचार मनोरंजन टेलिविजन चैनलों की सामग्री से जुड़ी शिकायतों को यह देखता है। न्यायमूर्ति मित्तल उच्चतम न्यायालय के पूर्व न्यायाधीश विक्रमजीत सेन का स्थान लेंगी जिनका बीसीसीसी अध्यक्ष के तौर पर कार्यकाल समाप्त हो गया है।
The Board of Directors of the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) appointed Geeta Mittal, former Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, as the new chairman of the Broadcasting Content Complaint Council (BCCC). It is noteworthy that the BCCC is a self regulatory body established by the IBF in June 2011 and deals with complaints related to the content of non-news entertainment television channels in the country. Justice Mittal will replace former Supreme Court judge Vikramjit Sen, whose term as BCCC president has ended.

प्रसिद्ध इतिहासकार, लेखक, कवि और सेवानिवृत्त नौकरशाह नरेंद्र लूथर का निधन हो गया है. 1955 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी, लूथर पूर्ववर्ती हैदराबाद राज्य और उसके शासकों के इतिहास और संस्कृति से निकटता से सम्बंधित थे. उन्होंने 1991 में अविभाजित आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्य सचिव के रूप में सेवानिवृत्त होने से पहले विभिन्न पदों पर काम किया था. उन्होंने हैदराबाद के इतिहास, विरासत और वास्तुकला पर कई किताबें लिखी हैं.
Renowned historian, writer, poet and retired bureaucrat Narendra Luther has passed away. A 1955 batch IAS officer, Luther was closely related to the history and culture of the erstwhile Hyderabad State and its rulers. He served in various positions before retiring as the Chief Secretary of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1991. He has written many books on the history, heritage and architecture of Hyderabad.
मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने ‘पंख’ योजना को लॉन्च की
राष्ट्रीय बालिका दिवस के अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान (Shivraj Singh Chauhan) ने मध्य प्रदेश में किशोरियों में सुरक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरुकता लाने के लिए 24 जनवरी को ‘बेटी बचाओ-बेटी पढ़ाओ’ योजना के तहत ‘पंख अभियान (PANKH)’ की शुरुआत की.
इस योजना को लॉन्च करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने पंख (PANKH) के अंग्रेजी शब्दों के स्टैंड की जानकरी दी. उन्होंने कहा कि P -सुरक्षा, A- जागरुकता (लड़िकयों के अधिकारों के बारे में जागरुकता) N- पोषण, K- ज्ञान और H- हेल्थ लिए स्टैंड करते हैं. यह सभी जरुरी चीजें इस योजना में शामिल है था ताकी सभी स्तर पर लड़कियां अपने अधिकारों के लिए लड़ सके. यह अभियान एक साल तक चलेगा.

BSF ने शुरू किया ऑपरेशन ‘सर्द हवा’
सीमा सुरक्षा बल (BSF) ने राजस्थान की पश्चिमी अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा पर "ऑपरेशन सर्द हवा" शुरू किया है. ऑपरेशन का उद्देश्य क्षेत्र में घने कोहरे के कारण घुसपैठ की घटनाओं की जाँच करना और जैसलमेर में सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में सुरक्षा बढ़ाना है. भारतीय गणतंत्र दिवस को ध्यान में रखते हुए, सप्ताह भर चलने वाला अभियान 21 जनवरी 2021 से 27 जनवरी 2021 तक के लिए शुरू किया गया है.
