राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिवस: 28 फरवरी
हर वर्ष भारत में 28 फरवरी को राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिवस मनाया जाता है। आज के दिन ही प्रसिद्ध भारतीय वैज्ञानिक सीवी रमन ने रमन इफेक्ट का ऐलान किया था। जिसके लिए उन्हें साल 1930 में नोबल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया था। इसके बाद साल 1986 से हर साल 28 फरवरी का दिन सीवी रमन द्वारा रमन इफेक्ट की खोज के लिए राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिवस के तौर पर मनाया जाएगा। इस बार की थीम है- 'फ्यूचर ऑफ साइंस एंड टेक्नोलॉजी एंड इनोवेशन: इम्पैक्ट ऑन एजुकेशन स्किल्स एंड वर्क’

संयुक्त राष्ट्र विश्व खाद्य कार्यक्रम (WFP) ने 24 फरवरी, 2021 को “द स्टेट ऑफ स्कूल फीडिंग वर्ल्डवाइड” शीर्षक से अपनी रिपोर्ट जारी की है।

इस रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, COVID-19 महामारी जोखिमों ने उन प्रयासों को उलट दिया है जो दुनिया भर में सबसे कमजोर बच्चों को पौष्टिक भोजन प्रदान करने के लिए एक दशक में दुनिया भर में किए गए थे।
इस रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि, दो स्कूली बच्चों में से एक (दुनिया भर में लगभग 388 मिलियन बच्चे) जब महामारी अपने चरम पर थी तब स्कूल भोजन प्राप्त किया था।यह इतिहास में सबसे अधिक संख्या है।

प्रसिद्ध मलयालम कवि, पुजारी और शिक्षाविद विष्णु नारायणन नम्बूतिरी का निधन। उन्हें दशकों तक मलयालम साहित्य में दिए उनके योगदान के लिए 2014 में पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया था। इसके आलावा उन्होंने केरल साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार, केंद्र साहित्य अकादमी फेलोशिप, वल्लथोल पुरस्कार, ओडक्कुज़ल पुरस्कार और मातृभूमि साहित्य पुरस्कार भी जीता। वह भाषा और वेदों के विख्यात विद्वान होने के साथ-साथ एक वक्ता भी थे।
