रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने 01 जनवरी, 2021 को अपना 63 वां स्थापना दिवस मनाया। साल 1958 में DRDO की स्थापना रक्षा क्षेत्र में शोध कार्य को बढ़ाने के लिए केवल 10 प्रयोगशालाओं के साथ की गई थी। उस समय, इसे भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों के लिए अत्याधुनिक रक्षा प्रौद्योगिकियों को डिजाइन करने और विकसित करने का काम सौंपा गया था।

प्रधानमंत्री ने 6 राज्यों में लाइट हाउस परियोजनाओं की आधारशिला रखी
प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 1 जनवरी 2021 को वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से देश के 06 राज्यों में 06 स्थानों पर लाइट हाउस प्रोजेक्ट्स (LHP) की आधारशिला रखी.
भारत के छह राज्यों – उत्तर प्रदेश, गुजरात, मध्य प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु, झारखंड और त्रिपुरा में इन परियोजनाओं को ग्लोबल हाउसिंग टेक्नोलॉजी चैलेंज (GHTC) के तहत किया जा रहा है. इन 6 राज्यों में मध्य प्रदेश में इंदौर, गुजरात में राजकोट, तमिलनाडु में चेन्नई, झारखंड में रांची, त्रिपुरा में अगरतला और उत्तर प्रदेश में लखनऊ को लाइट हाउस प्रोजेक्ट के तहत आवास बनाने के लिए चुना गया है। प्रत्येक चिन्हित स्थानों में एक हजार से ज्यादा घर बनाए जाएंगे।
ये लाइट हाउस प्रोजेक्ट आधुनिक तकनीक और नवीन प्रक्रियाओं से बने होंगे और निर्माण के समय को कम करेंगे और गरीबों के लिए अधिक लचीले, किफायती और आरामदायक घर बनाएंगे। ऐसे में प्रोजेक्ट में खर्चा भी कम आता है और यह मकान भूकंपरोधी भी होते हैं।
इंदौर की परियोजना में ईंट और मोर्टार की दीवारें की जगह पूर्वनिर्मित सैंडविच पैनल प्रणाली का उपयोग किया जाएगा।
राजकोट में लाइट हाउसों में फ्रेंच तकनीक का उपयोग किया जाएगा।
चेन्नई में, यूएस और फिनलैंड की प्रौद्योगिकियां प्रीकास्ट कंक्रीट प्रणाली का उपयोग किया जाएगा।
जर्मनी की 3 डी निर्माण प्रणाली का उपयोग करके रांची में मकान बनाए जाएंगे।
अगरतला में स्टील के फ्रेमों के साथ न्यूजीलैंड की तकनीक का उपयोग करते हुए मकान बनाए जा रहे हैं।
लखनऊ में कनाडा की प्रौद्योगिकी का उपयोग कर ऐसे घर बनाए जाएंगे जिसमें प्लास्टर और पेंट की आवश्यकता नहीं होगी और इनमें पूर्वनिर्मित दीवारों का उपयोग भी किया जाएगा।
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Light House Projects (LHP) at 06 locations in 06 states of the country through video conferencing on 1 January 2021.
These projects are being carried out under the Global Housing Technology Challenge (GHTC) in six states of India – Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Tripura. Of these 6 states, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Rajkot in Gujarat, Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Agartala in Tripura and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh have been selected to build houses under the Light House Project. More than a thousand houses will be built in each of the identified places.
These light house projects will be built with modern technology and innovative processes and will shorten the construction time and create more flexible, economical and comfortable homes for the poor. In such a situation, the project cost is also less and these houses are also earthquake resistant.
The prefabricated sandwich panel system will be used in place of brick and mortar walls in Indore project.
French techniques will be used in light houses in Rajkot.
In Chennai, technologies from the US and Finland will use precast concrete systems.
Houses will be built in Ranchi using Germany's 3D manufacturing system.
Houses are being built in Agartala using New Zealand technology with steel frames.
In Lucknow, houses built using Canadian technology will not require plaster and paint and will also use prefabricated walls.

उमेश सिन्हा को भारतीय निर्वाचन आयोग में उप चुनाव आयुक्त नियुक्त किया गया है। 1986 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी (सेवानिवृत्त) सिन्हा वर्तमान में चुनाव आयोग में महासचिव के पद पर कार्यरत हैं।

Umesh Sinha has been appointed Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India. Sinha, a 1986 batch IAS officer (retired), currently serves as the general secretary of the Election Commission.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the extension of the term of Sinha's reappointment as Deputy Election Commissioner on contractual basis for a period of six months from December 31, 2020.
