अमेरिकी की डिजिटल भुगतान समाधान प्रदाता पेपाल ने घोषणा की कि वह 1 अप्रैल, 2021 से भारत के भीतर घरेलू भुगतान सेवाओं की पेशकश बंद कर करेगा। यह निर्णय इसलिए लिया गया है क्योंकि कंपनी अपना ध्यान क्रॉस-बॉर्डर पेमेंट बिजनेस पर लगाना चाहती है.

American's digital payment solutions provider PayPal announced that it would cease offering domestic payment services within India from 1 April 2021. This decision has been taken because the company wants to focus its attention on the cross-border payment business.
However, global customers will be able to pay Indian merchants using PayPal. PayPal was a payment option on several Indian online apps such as travel and ticketing service MakeMyTrip, online movie booking app BookMyShow, and food delivery app Swiggy.

ओडिशा में बनेगा देश का पहला तूफान अनुसंधान परीक्षण केंद्र
ओडिशा के बालासोर में देश का ऐसा पहला अनुसंधान परीक्षण केंद्र बनेगा, जो बिजली और गरज के साथ आने वाले तूफानों का अध्ययन करेगा। भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग (आईएमडी) ने कहा कि इसका उद्देश्य आकाशीय बिजली गिरने से होने वाले जानमाल के नुकसान को रोकना है।
इस केंद्र की स्थापना भारतीय मौसम विभाग, पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय, भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) और रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) के सहयोग से की जाएगी।
Balasore in Odisha will become the first such research center in the country to study thunderstorms with lightning and thunder. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that its objective is to prevent loss of life and property due to lightning fall.
The center will be established in collaboration with Indian Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
राजस्थान सरकार ने राज्य भिखारी मुक्त बनाने के लिए अभियान शुरू किया
जयपुर में ‘भिखारी मुक्त’ राजस्थान के लिए एक अभियान शुरू किया गया है, जहां राजस्थान कौशल और आजीविका विकास निगम (आरएसएलडीसी) और सोपान इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ साइंस, टेक्नोलॉजी एंड मैनेजमेंट के संयुक्त प्रयासों से भिखारियों का पुनर्वास किया जा रहा है।
वर्तमान में, उत्तराखंड, उत्तर प्रदेश, और ओडिशा सहित विभिन्न राज्यों से 43 भिखारी, जो जयपुर में रह रहे थे, उन्हें एक आश्रय प्रदान किया गया है जहाँ उन्हें योग, खेल और कंप्यूटर कक्षाएं प्रदान की जा रही हैं।
पिंकसिटी को भिखारी मुक्त बनाने के लिए शहर के सभी भिखारियों को चिह्नित कर उनकी पूरी प्रोफाइल तैयार की गई है. 15 अगस्त से इन भिखारियों के पुनर्वास का काम शुरू कर दिया गया है. चिह्नित किये गये 1196 भिखारियों में से पांच ग्रेजुएट और पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट भी शामिल हैं. भिखारियों के स्किल के मुताबिक उन्हें काम के अवसर देने की कोशिश की जायेगी. वहीं उनके बच्चों की एजुकेशन पर भी फोकस रखा जायेगा.
A campaign for 'beggar-free' Rajasthan has been started in Jaipur, where the beggars are being rehabilitated by the joint efforts of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) and Sopan Institute of Science, Technology and Management.
Currently, 43 beggars from various states, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha, who were residing in Jaipur, have been provided a shelter where they are being provided yoga, sports and computer classes.
In order to make Pinkcity beggar-free, all the beggars of the city have been identified and their complete profile has been prepared. The work of rehabilitation of these beggars has been started from August 15. Of the 1196 beggars identified, five are graduate and post graduate are also included. According to the skill of beggars, efforts will be made to give them work opportunities. At the same time, focus will also be placed on the education of their children.

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited) ने हाल ही में अपनी ऑनलाइन बस बुकिंग सेवा लांच की है। IRCTC के अनुसार, 29 जनवरी से ऑनलाइन बस बुकिंग सेवा लाइव है और लोगों के लिए उपलब्ध है।
IRCTC ने देश का पहला ‘वन स्टॉप शॉप ट्रैवल पोर्टल’ बनने के उद्देश्य से अपनी ऑनलाइन बस बुकिंग सेवा लांच की है। IRCTC ऑनलाइन रेल और उड़ान टिकटिंग सुविधा प्रदान कर रहा है और अब बस बुकिंग भी शुरू की गई है। IRCTC के अनुसार, मार्च के पहले सप्ताह तक यह सेवा आईआरसीटीसी मोबाइल एप्प के साथ भी जोड़ दी जाएगी।

नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के क्षेत्र में भारत-बहरीन की बैठक आयोजित की गयी
भारत और बहरीन ने 4 फरवरी को एक वर्चुअल फॉर्मेट में नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के क्षेत्र में संयुक्त कार्य समूह (Joint Working Group) की पहली बैठक आयोजित की।
इस बैठक में बहरीन के प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व सस्टेनेबल एनर्जी अथॉरिटी के अध्यक्ष अब्दुल हुसैन बिन अली मिर्जा ने किया। जबकि भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व नवीन और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय के संयुक्त सचिव दिनेश दयानंद जगदाले ने किया। इस बैठक में बहरीन में भारतीय राजदूत पीयूष श्रीवास्तव ने भी भाग लिया।
दोनों पक्षों ने क्षमता निर्माण में गहरा जुड़ाव बनाने के लिए सहमति व्यक्त की और संबंधित एजेंसियों के साथ-साथ इस क्षेत्र में दोनों देशों के निजी क्षेत्र, विशेष रूप से सौर, पवन और स्वच्छ हाइड्रोजन के क्षेत्र में सहयोग पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया.

India and Bahrain held the first meeting of the Joint Working Group in the field of renewable energy on 4 February in a virtual format.
Bahrain's delegation was led by Sustainable Energy Authority President Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza at this meeting. While the Indian delegation was led by Dinesh Dayanand Jagdale, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The meeting was also attended by Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Piyush Srivastava.
The two sides agreed to forge a deeper engagement in capacity building and focused on cooperation between the agencies concerned as well as the private sector of the two countries in the region, particularly in the fields of solar, wind and clean hydrogen.
India and Bahrain signed an agreement in July 2018 to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of renewable energy.

डेनमार्क में दुनिया का पहला ‘ऊर्जा द्वीप’
डेनमार्क सरकार ने उत्तरी सागर में दुनिया के पहले ऊर्जा द्वीप के निर्माण के लिए एक परियोजना को मंजूरी दी है, जो यूरोपीय देशों में तीन मिलियन घरों की बिजली आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त हरित ऊर्जा का उत्पादन और भंडारण करेगी. हब यूरोप की बिजली ग्रिड के एकीकरण को मजबूत करेगा और जलवायु-तटस्थ यूरोप के लिए आवश्यक अक्षय बिजली उत्पादन को बढ़ाएगा.
- लगभग 34 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर की अनुमानित लागत के साथ शुरू की जाने वाली इस परियोजना को डेनमार्क के इतिहास में सबसे बड़ी परियोजना के रूप में देखा जा रहा है।
- यह ‘ऊर्जा द्वीप’ एक ऐसे प्लेटफ़ॉर्म पर आधारित है, जो आसपास के ‘अपतटीय पवन फार्म (Offshore Wind Farms) से विद्युत उत्पादन के लिये एक केंद्र के रूप में कार्य करता है। यह परियोजना डेनमार्क तथा उसके पड़ोसी देशों के बीच संपर्क बढ़ाने तथा ऊर्जा वितरण में सहायक होगी। डेनमार्क ने ऊर्जा द्वीप के संयुक्त उपयोग के लिये पहले से ही नीदरलैंड, जर्मनी और बेल्जियम के साथ समझौता किया है।
- यह कृत्रिम द्वीप, उत्तरी सागर में डेनमार्क से 80 किमी. की दूरी पर अवस्थित होगा, जिसके अधिकांश क्षेत्र पर डेनमार्क का अधिकार होगा। इस परियोजना का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य बड़े पैमाने पर ‘अपतटीय पवन ऊर्जा’ का उत्पादन कर यूरोपीय संघ में 3 मिलियन से अधिक घरों की विद्युत आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करना तथा पर्याप्त हरित ऊर्जा भंडारण एवं उत्पादन में सक्षम बनाना है।
- गौरतलब है कि जून 2020 में, डेनिश संसद ने दो ऊर्जा द्वीपों के निर्माण की पहल का फैसला किया था, जो डेनमार्क तथा पड़ोसी देशों को ऊर्जा का निर्यात करने में मदद करेगा। दूसरा प्रस्तावित द्वीप बाल्टिक सागर में अवस्थित है, जिसे ‘बोर्नहोम द्वीप’ के नाम से जाना जाता है।
The Danish government has approved a project to build the world's first energy island in the North Sea, which will produce and store enough green energy to meet the electricity needs of three million homes in European countries. The Hub will strengthen the integration of Europe's electricity grids and increase the renewable electricity generation required for climate-neutral Europe.
Launched at an estimated cost of approximately US $ 34 billion, the project is seen as the largest project in the history of Denmark.
This 'energy island' is based on a platform that acts as a hub for power generation from the nearby 'Offshore Wind Farms'. This project will help in increasing connectivity and distribution of energy between Denmark and its neighboring countries. Denmark has already tied up with the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium for joint use of the energy island.
This artificial island, 80 km from Denmark in the North Sea. Will be located at a distance of, with most of its territory occupied by Denmark. The primary objective of this project is to meet the electricity needs of more than 3 million homes in the European Union by producing 'offshore wind energy' on a large scale and enabling sufficient green energy storage and generation.
Significantly, in June 2020, the Danish parliament decided to initiate the creation of two energy islands, which would help Denmark and neighboring countries export energy. The second proposed island is located in the Baltic Sea, known as 'Bornholm Island'.

महिला जननांग विकृति, पूर्ण असहिष्णुता उन्मूलन हेतु अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस विश्व स्तर 6 फरवरी को मनाया जाता है. यह दिन संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा महिला जननांग विकृति के उन्मूलन के उनके प्रयासों के लिए प्रायोजित है. इसे पहली बार 2003 में पेश किया गया था.
इस वर्ष महिला जननांग विकृति, पूर्ण असहिष्णुता उन्मूलन हेतु अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस के लिए विषय: No Time for Global Inaction: Unite, Fund, and Act to End Female Genital Mutilation.
The International Day for the Elimination of Female Genital Deformity, Complete Intolerance, is celebrated on 6 February globally. The day is sponsored by the United Nations for their efforts to eradicate female genital mutilation. It was first introduced in 2003.
