Odisha's women forest officer Sasmita Lenka has been awarded the United Nations Environment Enforcement Award. This award is given to someone from India for the first time.
Lenka, Divisional Forest Officer at Athgarh, Cuttack, was conferred the award under the 'Gender Leadership and Impact' category for busting the pangolin smuggling racket in the state. He had helped to expose the international network of pangolin smuggling in Athgarh and Khunnapunni. He is currently posted as Deputy Conservator of Forests at Bhubaneswar District Headquarters.

कमांडो बटालियन फॉर रिजॉल्यूट एक्शन (CoBRA) को खुफिया-आधारित जंगल युद्ध संचालन के लिए वर्ष 2009 में CRPF के तहत उठाया गया था।

A contingent of 34 CRPF women personnel is included in its Special Jungle War Commando Force 'Cobra'. The contingent will soon be deployed in the country's anti-Naxal operations.
The Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) was raised under CRPF in the year 2009 for intelligence-based jungle warfare operations.
Until now, the force was an all-male unit and this is the first time that a contingent of female personnel has been inducted into it.
Commandos of CoBRA teams are expected to be mentally and physically tough and most of the teams are deployed in Maoist violence affected states of the country.
Some COBRA teams are also deployed for counter-terrorism operations in the north-eastern states.
In Kadarpur village, a ceremony was organized to involve a contingent of women, in which the selected women personnel carried out a war exercise.
Out of 6 all women battalions of CRPF, 34 women contingent members of CRPF have been selected.
This women contingent undergoes pre-induction training for 3 months and is then deployed with units in Chhattisgarh's Naxal violence affected districts such as Dantewada, Sukma and Bijapur.
The first battalion of the 88th Battalion of CRPF was established in 1986 at CRPF Base in Delhi. An all-female brass band of CRPF was established during a function organized to mark the anniversary of the 35th Raising Day of the 1st Women Battalion of CRPF. CRPF also formed an All Women Pipe Band in the year 2012.

भारत के प्रधानमंत्री, नरेंद्र मोदी, 10 फरवरी को वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से विश्व सतत विकास शिखर सम्मेलन 2021 (World Sustainable Development Summit 2021) का उद्घाटन करेंगे। विश्व सतत विकास शिखर सम्मेलन का आयोजन ‘Redefining Our Common Future: Safe and Secure Environment for All’ थीम के तहत किया जाएगा।
यह वर्ष शिखर सम्मेलन के 20वें संस्करण को चिह्नित करेगा।
यह 10 से 12 फरवरी के बीच में आयोजित किया जाएगा।
यह शिखर सम्मेलन ऊर्जा और संसाधन संस्थान (TERI)) द्वारा आयोजित किया जाता है।
इस शिखर सम्मेलन में जलवायु वित्त, परिपत्र अर्थव्यवस्था, ऊर्जा और उद्योग संक्रमण, अनुकूलन और लचीलापन, प्रकृति आधारित समाधान, स्वच्छ महासागरों और वायु प्रदूषण इत्यादि विषयों पर विचार-विमर्श किया जाएगा।

The newly formed Square Kilometer Array Observatory (SKAO) Council has approved the installation of the world's largest radio telescope. The telescope will enable astronomers to monitor the sky in unprecedented detail and to survey the entire sky much faster than any system currently in existence.
The SKAO telescope will be an array of antennae located in two continents, namely Africa and Australia.
The operation, maintenance and construction of the telescope will be overseen by SKAO.
The development of the telescope at a cost of over 1.8 billion pounds is expected to take almost a decade.
SKAO is a new intergovernmental organization dedicated to radio astronomy.
The headquarters of SKAO is located in the United Kingdom.
The ten-nation organization is currently a part of SKAO, which includes Australia, Canada, China, India, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, Netherlands and the UK.
French-born Dr. Catherine Cesarski has been appointed as the first chairman of the SKAO Council.
An Indian team of more than 20 institutes will be led by TIFR's Pune-based National Center for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA).
India is participating in the National Square-kilometer Array Observatory at the national-coordination level, led by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research's National Center for Radio Astrophysics.
In all, 19 institutes across the country are part of this Indian coordination team, including IIT Indore, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur and IISc Bangalore.

रंग विदुषक के संस्थापक और थियेटर निर्देशक पद्म श्री बंशी कौल का निधन हो गया है. उनका जन्म 1949 में एक कश्मीरी पंडित परिवार में हुआ था, बंशी कौल एक हिंदी थिएटर निर्देशक और भोपाल में एक थिएटर समूह और थिएटर संस्थान, रंग विदूषक के संस्थापक थे. उन्हें 1995 में संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार और 2014 में पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया. उन्होंने वर्ष 2016-17 के लिए राष्ट्रीय कालिदास सम्मान प्राप्त किया.
Padma Shri Banshi Kaul, founder and theater director of Rang Vidushak, has passed away. He was born in a Kashmiri Pandit family in 1949, Banshi Kaul was a Hindi theater director and the founder of Rang Vidukshak, a theater group and theater institute in Bhopal. He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1995 and Padma Shri in 2014. He received the National Kalidas Award for the year 2016-17.
